GTO Introduction:

Good Thinkers Organization is an Advocacy & Development NGO, working in Kasur, since 2001 in the remote areas of Kasur District in Punjab Province-Pakistan. Organization is Registered from Social Welfare Department, Provincial Government-Punjab. GTO has its main focus on Women, Children and other marginalized communities, which are most vulnerable. In the beginning, GTO was a services delivery organization and running free dispensaries, community schools and distributing low cost water filtration system for the provision of clean drinking water but with the passage of time, GTO observed that services delivery is not a sustainable solution of any problem. So, its board members decided and turned GTO towards Advocacy & Development.

Union Council No. 9 of City Kasur is one of the most backward Union Council, where very bad sanitation condition and contaminated drinking water was taking so many innocent lives and illiterate poor people are suffering from various dangerous diseases very fastely. Among 25,000 populations of the said union councils, 15% Christians & 85% Muslims are living. Government was not taking any attention, especially to the area, where very poor Muslims and Christians were living together “Muhallah Eissah Nagar” Shafi Wala Chowk. Good Thinkers Organization for Human Development (GTO) Mobilized local communities, formed their organization, empowered them, gave them technical assistance and provided training on Advocacy. Local Community started dialogue with the Government Concerned Authorities for resolving their water supply and sanitation issues. As a result, Tehsil Government Provided Rs. 2.5 Million for sanitation and 2 Million for the provision of clean drinking water in the area. The entire funds were utilized by community itself through CCB.
